Jon is the President and General Manager of Summit Brooke Construction. As a local Abbotsford graduate, he continued on to the Operations Management School at BCIT. The company was founded by himself and a partner in 1998. From this time the company has gradually expanded in to the reputable construction firm it is now. In late 2013 Jon became the sole owner. Jon has a broad based business background and has played a leadership role throughout the years. He excelled in development and growth of this reputable business over the years.
Jon’s role is to oversee the overall operations of the company and senior management team. In his words his job is to keep the ship pointed in the right direction. He is very active in the day to day of all departments. He continues to be committed to client satisfaction and maintains long lasting relationships. Jon enjoys business and the unique opportunities and challenges each day brings. He continually compliments, in his words, the amazing staff as they really care about what they do and treat it more than just a job. He also states that he needs to have the right people in the right roles and get out of their way.
In Jon’s spare time you will find him enjoying a game of golf, or spending time with his family. He is very active with his children and coaches his son’s hockey team. He is an involved Board Member for Run for Water Society in Abbotsford.
Vice President & General Manager
Russ brings over 15 years of senior level leadership experience in the corporate finance, strategy, and marketing field across a variety of industries. He has a MBA from the University of BC and is also a certified CPA, CMA. Russ has played a crucial role with Summit Brooke in operational and financial reporting, both internally and externally. Russ works hand in hand with the President and General Manager to provide analysis and recommendations on a strategic level regarding the financials of the company.
His main responsibilities include the overall direction and management of the financial accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. He ensures the highest level of financial information integrity and compliance to all regulatory requirements. Russ is also responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the accounting team.
Outside of the office Russ is an avid hockey fan and he enjoys coaching soccer which involves strategy and pre-planning. His work ethic compliments his skills to strategically plan and coach his players.
Director of Construction
Originating from the UK with a Quantity Surveying and commercial back ground, Billy holds a BSc degree in construction management and has over 18 years of combined construction, estimating, commercial and contract experience on a diverse variety of construction projects.
As the Director of Operations, Billy leads the operations department providing staff allocation management and overseeing financial projections, quality control, sub-contract negotiations and prime contract execution and compliance. His Chartered Surveyor status and broad range of experience enables him to conceive innovative solutions and resolve construction operational challenges.
Billy is a passionate sports fan and recreational soccer player who enjoys spending time with his family at the weekends.
Director of Pre Construction
A native of Abbotsford, Mathias has worked at Summit Brooke since 2010, and been involved in the construction industry for 14 years. He has managed construction projects in far-flung places like Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan and Iraq. He has a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management.
As Director of Pre-construction at Summit Brooke, Mathias provides leadership and structure to the pre-construction department. With oversight of the tendering and budgeting process, he interacts with owners, consultants and sub-trades on a daily basis. His attention to detail ensures that projects are designed for successful implementation. Mathias lives with his family in Abbotsford, and especially enjoys quality time with his kids.
